The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon exchanged congratulatory messages with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
President Rahmon said:

Please accept my sincere congratulations on 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.
Over the past three decades, our countries have achieved significant results in developing and expanding relations of close friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation based on principles of strategic partnership.
I highly appreciate the current level of multifaceted relations between Tajikistan and Russia, on which the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance and the Declaration on the Allied Partnership oriented towards the 21st century serve as a solid foundation.
The Russian Federation is a major trade and economic partner of Tajikistan, and we effectively cooperate in the fight against terrorism, extremism, transnational organized crime, and in the military and military-technical spheres.
I would like to highlight the significant development of cultural, humanitarian, as well as inter-regional and inter-parliamentary ties. Our countries closely cooperate within the United Nations and other international and regional organizations in terms of their positions.
I am convinced that further expansion of the Tajik-Russian cooperation meets the fundamental interests of the citizens of the two countries and contributes to maintaining peace and security in Central Asia.
We are invariably interested in the further fruitful advancement of the entire range of our interstate relations, which will continue to occupy a special place in Tajikistan’s foreign policy.
I hope that from now on we will continue to make comprehensive joint effort to strengthen relations between Tajikistan and Russia in the interests of our people.

Over the previous decades, we have managed to reach the level of strategic partnership and allied relations between Russia and Tajikistan. Moscow and Dushanbe constructively cooperate in heading off threats and challenges to regional security and coordinate their efforts within the CSTO, CIS, SCO, UN, and other multilateral formats.
I believe further progress in fostering relations between Russia and Tajikistan in their entirety meets the basic interests of the friendly people of our two counties and is beneficial to strengthening peace and stability in Central Asia.
