Temur Rahimov Wins Bronze in Tel Aviv Grand Slam

Temur Rahimov Wins Bronze in Tel Aviv Grand Slam Tajik wrestler Temur Rahimov won the bronze medal at the 2022 Tel Aviv Grand Slam, which was held from February 17 through February 19 in Israel.

Rahimov in the +100 kg weight category started the competition on February 19 from the second round and after two victories over Seraphim Kompanez from Israel and Stefan Hegi from Austria reached the semi-finals.

In the semi-final he lost to the gold medalist Guram Tushishvili from Georgia. Rahimov fought for third place against Cuban Andy Grande and was awarded the bronze medal and €1,500.

This is Rakhimov’s fourth medal in a series of world judo tournaments. Previously he had won a bronze medal at the 2019 Morocco Grand Prix, a silver medal at two Grand Slams in Baku last year, and a bronze medal at the Abu Dhabi Games.

According to the International Judo Federation, 298 athletes, including 165 men and 133 women from 34 countries took part in the Tel Aviv Grand Slam.
